Our Story: Since 2020

Langston & Keene was founded in Graz in 2020 – not to bring just another suitcase to the market, but to provide an indestructible counterpoint to the throwaway culture of short-lived plastics. Driven by uncompromising precision, we create travel companions from solid aluminum that are not intended for fleeting trends, but built to last for generations.

Part 2: The origin

Born from a standstill.

"What remains when the world of travel suddenly comes to a halt? Only things of real, lasting value."

The year 2020 forced the world to slow down. On abandoned runways and in closed terminals, a contradiction became impossible to ignore: modern travel culture had degenerated into a disposable product. Billions of kilometers were traveled with suitcases that ended up in landfills after just a few flights—broken plastic shells, torn-off wheels, inseparable glued-together disposable goods.

Out of this dissatisfaction, a radical counter-movement emerged in Austria: Langston & Keene. We decided to rethink travel from the ground up – not as a rapid act of consumption, but as a way of life. Our resolve: to build a manufactory that combines uncompromising industrial aesthetics with modular engineering. Where every component is screwed rather than glued, and solid aluminum serves not as a short-lived shell, but as an indestructible companion for eternity.

Part 3: THE PHILOSOPHY

While conventional plastic suitcases age and fatigue with every impact, solid aluminum gains character. We do not view our material as a sterile shell, but as a chronicler. Every fine scratch from a tarmac in Tokyo, every nuance in the anodization after a transatlantic crossing tells the story of your journeys. True elegance does not lie in a sterile, brand-new condition – it emerges through conscious experience.

01 / Modular construction

Screwed, never glued.
Conventional suitcases are industrial disposable products whose shells and components are permanently glued or welded together. At Langston & Keene, every functional assembly – from the infinitely adjustable telescopic handle to the TSA bracket locks and ball-bearing silent wheels – is precisely screwed or riveted. Every component can be serviced or replaced individually within minutes, either at our studio in Graz or anywhere in the world using a service kit.

02 / The Warranty

Consistency instead of leniency.
Our lifetime warranty is not a commercial risk, but the direct result of uncompromising design. Because we build every suitcase so that it is completely dismantlable and repairable, we can guarantee its functional integrity forever. If a wheel wears out after thousands of kilometers, we don’t replace the suitcase – we replace the component.
